Range Of Motion
Range of motion is the amount of movement measured around a specific joint or body part. For example, when you’re completing a lift, your full range of motion is the control of weight throughout the entire movement covering both the eccentric and concentric contraction phases.
The reason we wanted to focus on this today is in a matter of weeks we’re all going to be rushing back to the gyms but now, more than ever it’s important to leave our egos at the door. Many of us have kept on top of our training during these difficult times in some way or another but we certainly may not have been able to lift the amount we usually would so getting back in the gym and grabbing those 50kg dumbbells or overloading the bar with plates is a recipe for an inquiry and potentially another lengthy setback.
Instead, why not focus on getting your consistency back? Set yourself a target of training 3, 4, 5 times a week or whatever you can manage and rebuild over a slightly longer length of time but crucially, do it properly. Consistency always wins!
Get yourself a plan and focus on your range of motion throughout every single lift, get your mind muscle connection right and over time your body will be rebuilt stronger than ever!
