Caffeine
Whilst there is much debate about the negative affects of caffeine consumption these are largely in people that consume far too much of it or have things such as high blood pressure and should avoid too much caffeine.
Research has shown that healthy adults can consume 400mg of caffeine per day (around 4 cups of coffee or 2 energy drinks) and the benefits of caffeine are huge, particularly when it comes to concentration and our performance!
☕️ Improve memory
☕️ Decrease fatigue
☕️ Improve mental functioning including improvements in short term memory
☕️ Speed up reaction times
And drinking coffee in particular has been shown to prevent ailments such as type 2 diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, liver disease and even cancer.
So, don’t shy away from caffeine it has so many benefits. Just be sure to keep track of how much and when you’re consuming it to maximise its benefits and avoid any or all negatives! And also check what type of caffeine you’re consuming, many drinks in particular have synthetic caffeine in them. Instead, try to chose ones with natural caffeine as this is far easier for our bodies to use and then break down.
